Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily control the heating of a coke oven, by a method in which an absorption type refrigerator is operated by using hot water obtained after cooling red-hot coke as a heat source, and then the cooling water thus obtained is used to dehumidify the heating gas or the combustion air.
CONSTITUTION: A hot water (a), obtained by cooling red-hot coke discharged onto a quenching car 10 through a guide car 9 from a coke oven 2, is stored in a sedimentation basin 8 and circulated as a coke cooling water (b) and also set as hot water (c) to an absorption type refrigerator 5. And, cooling water (g) obtained in the refrigerator 5 is sent to a condenser 6 or a waste heat valve chamber 15 provided on the midway of a coke oven-heating gas main pipe 1, where it is heat-exchanged with a heating gas or a combustion air for dehumidification. Then, the gas or the air is supplied to the coke oven and also heat-exchanged water (h) is circulated to the refrigerator 5.
