Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain automatic calibration by arranging either of a couple of sense coils, provided in right and left displacement gauges, opposite to a body to be detected and the other opposite to a dummy detecting body, and then by automatically balancing a difference in voltage between the couple of sensing coils.
CONSTITUTION: In displacement gauges 3 and 4, high-frequency coils are built in; one sensing coils 5 is installed opposite to detected body 1 (railway vehicle), and the other sensing coil 6 to dummy detecting body 7. Voltage E1 across sensing coil 5 and voltage E2 across dummy sensing coil 6 when a vehicle does not enter are supplied to differential amplifying circuit 12 respectively. With calibration switch 11 turned ON right before the vehicle enters, voltage E1-E2=E3 is developed by differential amplifier 12 and the output of oscillator 9 is so balanced automatically by adjusting R that output voltage E4 of differential amplifier 18 for a displacement gauge output will be zero volt. Therefore, even if voltage E3 varies with temperature, E4 is automatically adjusted to zero volt at any time.
