Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible to purge air quickly when operating a tickler lever and check an oil level rise timing on starting from outside by providing in a diaphragm cover a means to exhaust air remaining in a sensing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: In a diaphragm cover 9 which forms a part of the sensing chamber 4 of a carburetor body 1, an air purge passage 13 which connects with the sensing chamber 4 is formed and an opening and closing valve 10a which opens the air purge passage 13 when a tickler lever 10 is operated is provided. By so doing, the air purge passage 13 is connected with an atmospheric air chamber 14 if the tickler lever 10 is operated. If a priming pump 19 is operated in this state to make fuel flow into the sensing chamber 4 via a needle valve 7, the air in the sensing chamber 4 is discharged outside quickly through an atmospheric air passage 15 and the rise timing of the oil level in the sensing chamber 4 at the time of starting can be checked from the outside of the carburetor 1.
