Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a light spectacle flame having excellent corrosion resistance, by using palladium brazing filler metal comprising specific percentage of palladium, silver, and copper as brazing filler metal.
CONSTITUTION: For a spectacle flame having members made of titanium or titanium alloy is used a brazing filler metal comprising 4W26wt% palladium, 53W 96wt% silver, 0W32wt% copper. In brazing, the cut surfaces 1', 2' of titanium wires 1, 2 are butted and are positioned at the center of a high frequency heating coil 4, and high frequency electric current is applied to the coil 4 while argon gas being sprayed from nozzles 5, 5'. Hereby butted surfaces 1', 2' of the titanium wires are heated, and brazing filler metal 3 is supplied between the surfaces 1', 2', then the application of electric current is stopped. The titanium wire is taken out after cooling. The titanium wire is hardly oxidized and the brazed part keeps its luster because heated part is covered with argon gas.
