Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the amount of production of unburned coaly fine particles of poor combustility at the time of removing SOx from the SOX-contg. exhaust gas by means of semicoke, by classifying the raw coal for semicoke and using the coal other than predetermined grain sizes as a boiler fuel without using the same as a raw material for semicoke.
CONSTITUTION: Since SOX is contained in the exhaust gas emitted from a boiler or combustion furnace using coal as a fuel, it is passed through semicoke to be adsorbed and removed of SOX. In this case, the semicoke is produced by grinding part of the coal used in the boiler with a ball mill, classifying this and sending only the one of about 2W20mm sizes to a carbonization unit. The fine powder coal of about ≤2mm is used as fuel coal for boiler without being sent to the carbonization unit. The semicoke as a desulfurizer has no particulate one and has no decrease in combustion efficiency accompaning to the production of fine-powdered coke of poor combustility having no volatile component, thus the entire amount of raw coal may be effectively utilized.
