Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the signal drop-out owing to fading rapidly by measuring the period of the Doppler signal, detecting the signal drop-out owing to fading with a slight delay from the length of its time and outputting the fading detected signal. CONSTITUTION:A Doppler radar 1, disposed in the predetermined position of a vehicle, radiates microwaves, detects the reflected waves thereof, and outputs the Dopper signal fD of the frequencies corresponding to vehicle speeds. A waveform shaping and multiplying circuit 3 converts the input signal to the pulse train of the frequencies (n) times the frequencies of said signal and outputs the signal Pd. A signal processing circuit 4 measures the time interval of between the pulses and pulses of the pulse train inputted, checks the time of the pulse incoming next by the forecast value calculated from the measured value TN of the previous time and outputs the fading detected signal S by deciding that the signal drop-out has occured when the next pulse does not arrive despite elapsing of the time.
