Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration of the material used in a gas turbine, by providing a flow control valve in a cooling fluid supply pipe extended between a compessor and a turbine, and cooling high temperature portions of the turbine by controlling the flow control valve such that cooling air is passed at a flow rate suited to the inlet temperature of turbine.
CONSTITUTION: A compressor 1 is at first started by a starter 4 for feeding fluid compressed by compressor 1 to a combustor 7 via an outlet pipe 1b together with fuel. Gas generated in the combustor 7 is supplied to a turbine 6 for driving a generator 3, and the exhaust gas is discharged via an exhaust pipe 9. On the other hand, fluid pressurized by compressor 1 is supplied to high temperature portions of turbine 6 via a cooling fluid supply pipe 10 for cooling the high temperature portions forcibly. In case that fuel is replaced by a low-calorie fuel, a flow control valve 11 is opened for increasing the fuel flow from point J to point I. Here, operation of this valve 11 is controlled on the result of comparison between the output value of an arithmetic unit 19 for calculating the flow rate of cooling air and that of another arithmetic unit 18 for calculating an aimed flow rate of cooling air.
