CONSTITUTION:In the silicon thin film heating head 1 comprising the polycrystalline silicon thin film heating body layer 4 and the leading layers 51, 53 overlaid on the vitreous glaze layer 3 for the accumulation of heat on a base plate 2 of alumina or the like and covered with a protective film 6, the glaze layer is selectively removed in a prescribed depth and in a prescribed region below an end of the heating portion side of at least one of the leading layers. For example, a part of the glaze layer that is located just below an end of the heating portion side of the leading layer 51 and a part adjacent to said first part are removed crosswise with respect to each member of the heating body layer 4.
