CONSTITUTION:Each phase of the rotary armature winding 7' of the AC exciter 6' is divided into 7a and 7b. The individual leads can be suitably connected to input terminals u, v, and w of a rectifier 5 on the rotor. In this constitution, one type of the AC exciter can be applied to the various main generators having different number of poles.
