Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an erroneous operation due to water leak by covering an electromagnetic switch with a drip-proof cover in a device to detect a water level with the electromagnetic switch for a level gauge installed on a draft tube when a hydraulic turbine operates for depressing the surface of water.
CONSTITUTION: A guide vane 2 is closed to check pressure water in a casing 3 from flowing into a runner 1 side, and a compressed air is supplied from an admission pipe 8 by opening an air inlet valve 9 to depress the surface of water in a draft tube 4. In this case, the water in the casing 3 leaking through a gap of the guide vane 2 flows down along an inside wall of the tube 4 according to rotations of the runner 1 to a water film 11, and it flows partly into a level gauge 5. To prevent an erroneous operation of electromagnetic switches 6, 7 due to the water leak, the electromagnetic switches 6, 7 are covered with a drip-proof cover 12.
