NEW MATERIAL:A p-aminobenzoic acid derivative of formula (R1 is residue of mono-, di- or trisaccharide excluding arabinose, xylose, glucose, galactose, mannose and rhamnose; R2 is H, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, aluminum or 1W3C alkyl).
EXAMPLE: p-Aminobenzoic acid butyl ester-N-D-riboside.
USE: Medicine having blood sugar level depressing, hypotensive, anti-arteriosclerotic, antineoplasmic, central nervous system suppressing, and antiphlogistic activities. Since it has low toxicity and no antibacterial activity, it can be administered for a long period without the danger of teratogenecity and allergic reaction. Preferably administered orally.
