Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the print which is rich in variety of color and has a special visual effect by sorting the density of the original into highlight, halftone and shadow part, in the multicolor print wherein color separation is conducted according to the differences in the density of a monochromatic original.
CONSTITUTION: The monochromatic original such as black-and-white negative is scanned by an electronic photoengraving machine to obtain the first printing original plate film which has a gradation curve F wherein the density is minimum at the highlight and maximum at the shadow of the original. Then the original is scanned again by the electronic photoengraving machine to obtain the second printing original plate film which has a gradation curve G wherein the density is maximum at the highlight and minimum at the shadow of the original. Further, the film obtained by the double scanning of the original is treated by the contact reversal process to obtain the third printing original plate film which has a gradation curve I wherein the density is maximum at the halftone of the original. The picture is printed on a presensitized plate by using each of the printing original plate film, and then printing is conducted by using the printing plate and arbitrary inks.
