The vapor of the treating liquid is condensed and liquefied on the constitutent members of the machine such as an arc extinguishing chamber and the like in the switchgear 10 and the inner surface of the container. At this time, the decomposed products attached to the surface thereof are made harmless and washed. After the treatment, the treating liquid 21 passes through a filtering device 30 from a valve 13a provided at the bottom of the switchgear 10, aided by the operation of a rotary pump 33. The dust is removed and the deoxidation is carried out; and the treating liquid 21 is made harmless and returned to the treating liquid tank 20 again. The state of the treatment is judged by a treatment finish judging device.
