CONSTITUTION:When the magnetic tape 3 has a normal travelling, the signal of the head 6U is delivered with a delay equivalent to the travelled distance (d) of the head 7U. For this purpose, the signal of the head 6U is delivered through the delay circuit 9. In the same way, the signal of the head 5U is delivered through the delay circuit 8 as the signal which cannot be detected since the head 5U is out of the magnetic track of the tape 3. The output is small also for the signal of the head 7U. Then in case the tape 3 has a track variation to be turned into the state 4, the signal of the head 5U becomes maximum. And the signal outputs of the heads 6U and 7U are made small or turned to 0. In this instant, the signal is the 5U signal with a switching carried out from head 6U to the head 5U.
