Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the formation of fins of casting by so piercing a hole in the central part of the lower half of a stationary die plate that the injection port of the molten metal is moved horizontally.
CONSTITUTION: A long hole 2 is pierced in the center of the lower half of a stationary die plate 1 in its horizontal direction. An injection port 5 consisting of an injection sleeve 3 and an injection plunger 4 is mounted to the long hole 2. A long hole 7 is provided to an injection bracket 6 in opposition to the long hole 2 and an injection cylinder 8 is mounted horizontally movably. A cavity 13 is formed by the stationary die 10 of the stationary die plate 1 and the moving die 12 of the moving die plate 11 and molten metal is injected, whereby a casting is made. In the case of inserting a core 14 into the cavity 13 by, for example, a core cylinder 15, the injection port 5 is moved in the horizontal direction by the long hole 2 of the stationary die plate 1 and the cavity 13 is positioned always to the center of the die, whereby the production of fins and the damaging of the machine is prevented.
