Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare the titled resin capable of adsorbing heavy metals at a high rate of adsorption, by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a crosslinking agent comprising a specific polyol polyacrylate, etc., and a nitrile-containing ethylenic unsaturated compound, and reacting the polymerization product with hydroxylamine. CONSTITUTION:A monomer mixture composed of (A) a crosslinking agent such as polyacrylate or polymethacrylate of a polyalkylene polyol having 2-4C alkylene group (e.g. polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate, etc.), etc. and (B) a nitrile-containing unsaturated compound (e.g. acrylonitrile, etc.), is polymerized using a polymerization initiator such as benzoyl peroxide, etc. The resulting polymer is made to react with hydroxylamine to obtain the objective resin. The amounts of the (A) and the (B) components are pref. 90-10wt% and 10-90wt%, respectively.
