Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber reinforced-material for the plate of a lead acid battery which is highly homogeneously dispersed in a paste made of an active-material powder, by attaching a nonion surface active agent of a polyethylene glycol type to short polyester fibers. CONSTITUTION:A nonion surface active agent of a polyethylene glycol type is attached to short polyester fibers with a length of about 0.5-10mm. and a size of about 1-10 denier to obtain a fiber reinforced-material for the plate of a lead acid battery. The nonion surface active agent of a polyethylene glycol type is, for example, a higher alcohol added with ethylene oxides, an alkyl phenol added with ethylene oxides, a fatty acid added with ethylene oxides, or the like. Here, the amount of the surface active agent is about 0.1-1.0wt% of the short polyester fibers.
