Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the manufacture processes of an electrode pole strap, and reduce the number of the parts of the electrode pole strap by preparing a belt-like strap material which is provided with slits used for plate insertion, and cutting the belt-like strap into a desired length according to the kind of the battery. CONSTITUTION:A strap material 4 is prepared from a belt-like plate with a convex cross section, and is provided with a number of slits 3, which are used for plate insertion and are perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the material 4, on its both sides. Here, the spaces between the slits 3 are the same as the spaces between the plates of an alkaline storage battery. Paying attention to the fact that the intervals of the plates are constant irrespective of the kind of the battery, an electrode pole can be made by cutting the long strap material 4 into a desired length before a pole is welded to the cut material 4 since the length of the strap varies according to the kind and the capacity of the battery. Consequently, various kinds of straps can be obtained from one kind of the strap material 4.
