Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the mechanical strength of a metal mold formed by metallizing metals by heat treating the metal mold in an inert or reducing atmosphere at the temperature between the recrystallization temperature and melting temperature of said metals.
CONSTITUTION: Metals for forming metal molds such as red bras (Cu-18%Zn), and German silver (Cu-18%Ni-18%Zn) are metallized on the surface of a pattern of wood material or the like and the pattern is removed to produce a metal mold. This metal mold is heat treated in a furnace of an inert atmosphere such as Ar or reducing atmosphere such as H2 at the temperature above the recrystallization temperature and below the melting temperature of said metals.
