Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable recognition at high speed of pattern by imparting predetermined weighing coefficients to signal group from respective picture elements of a three-electrode charge injection device capable of accessing at random the picture elements and calculating among the signals of the group. CONSTITUTION:A charge injection photosensitive detector (CID) capable of accessing at random predetermined picture element is constructed by forming a photosensitive electrode 3a, a storage electrode 3b and light transmissive reading electrode 3c in each picture element 2, connecting address designating circuits 6a, 7a to the electrodes 3a, 3b and connecting a terminal 10 to the electrode 3c. The access to the respective picture element can be conducted by applying a voltage to the terminal 10 of the electrode 3c. The read signal from the picture element is applied through switches SW1 and SW2 to amplifiers A1 A2 respectively, the outputs from the amplifiers are applied to a and differential amplifier A3, and calculation is executed among the signals from the respective picture elements by using the capaci tor C13 and amplifier A4.
