Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize a color solid-state pickup unit and to stabilize picture quality by obtaining two independent output signals at a horizontal line output terminal via two gate FETs. CONSTITUTION:Signal charge transferred in a semiconductor substrate is led to two horizontal output FET671, 672 with source terminals (or drain terminals) connected in common. This signal charge is separated to two paths with gate pulses applied to gate electrodes 661 and 662 of FET671, 672; one is led to FET681, and the other to FET682. Video signals passing through those two paths appear at terminals 691 and 692 as video signal outputs. Thus, the solid-state pickup element is given the function of gating to eliminate the need for a sampling circuit. Therefore, the pickup unit itself can be miniaturized and a lead line to the sampling circuit is unneeded, so that the picture quality can be stabilized.
