PURPOSE: To provide a uniform blowing of slurry fuel into a furnace from a plurality of tuyeres by a method wherein a pressure loss in the slurry fuel return pipe is adjusted for its dispersion covering an entire length of the pipe in a mass feeding and a partial return system.
CONSTITUTION: Feeding volume of slurry fuel from the pump 5 is made to be higher than a blowing volume from the tuyeres of the shaft furnace 8, the remaining volume other than a blowing consumption volume is returned back to the tank 2 through the flow rate adjuster valve 11b, a return pipe 15. In this case,a degree of opening of the flow rate adjustment valve 11b is kept at a predetermined initial value, and a pressure loss is adjusted for its dispersion so as to apply a desired return pressure over an entire length of the return pipe 15 after the valve 11b.
