Abstract

PURPOSE:To generate a calory more than a proper calory of fuel oil fed by a method wherein an improved furnace having catalyst therein is arranged at a liquid injection burner and a produced gas is added to and combusted with a primary flame from the burner. CONSTITUTION:In front of the burner 1 are arranged a cylinder 2 for regulating a flame and adjusting pre-heating calory and an improving furnace 3. Both inner and outer cylinders are provided with a partition wall 5, through-pass holes 6 and a contact filling, mixing chamber 7, and a catalyst 11 is filled in a reaction chamber 10. When a switch 51 in a control panel 50 is turned on to ignite the burner 1, a primary flame is produced. When a temperature sensor 52 senses a predetermined temperature, a water volumetric pump 53 is operated to feed water to a water-head exchanger 13. The water is changed to an exessive hot steam, passed through the mixing chamber 7 into the catalyst chamber 10. After several minutes are passed, turning-on of the switch 59 causes the oil pump 60 to be operated, resulting in that a specified volume of oil is passed through the injection nozzle 62, changed to a gas by the oil pre-heating pipe 15, mixed with the excessive hot steam in the mixing chamber 7 and the reaction chamber 10, injected into the primary flame from a nozzle of the injection pipe 12 as an improved gas rich in methane, combusted constantly and a part of nonreaction gas is combusted in the injection flame.
