Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate fabrication of electrodes and to provide a high speed printer, by substituting linear electrodes as an integrated type of stylus electrodes for multistyrus electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Insulating layer 402 is formed on the outer circumference of cylinder 401, and linear electrodes 403 consisting of conductors each having a given angle to the end face of cylinder 401 are formed to provide recording electrodes 404, which rotates at a constant speed. These electrodes 403 are divided into plural sections between both the end faces of cylinder 401. Control electrodes 405 adjacent to electrodes 404 are provided, and since the most approximate crossing point of electrodes 403 of electrodes 404 and electrodes 405 shifts horizontally along the end face of electrodes 405, on application of a driving signal from driving circuit 409 to electrodes 403 and 405, a latent image is first formed by discharge between them. Linear electrodes 502 are provided on the outer circumference of cylinder 501 of electrodes 404, and contacts 503 for applying a drive signal from an exterior driving circuit to electrodes 502 are provided.
