Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the sensitivity of the resulting photoreceptor to laser beams and the printing resistance thereof by forming a photosensitive layer contg. photocrosslinking polyester having specified groups in the principal chain and glass transition point above a specified value and (thia)pyrylium salt on a support.
CONSTITUTION: A photocrosslinking polyester is a polymer having the group represented by formula I (where X is H or C1WC4 alkylene) and ≥35°C glass transition point. The said polyester contains dicarboxylic acid units represented by formula II (where each of l, m, n, p and q is 0 or 1, one or more among +, m and n are 1, each of Y and Z is H, and Y and Z may be bonded to each other to form C1WC4 alkylene) and one or more kinds of glycol units represented by formula III (where R is C2WC4 alkylene and r is 2W4), IV (where each of R1 and R2 is H or C1WC6 alkyl) and V (where R3 is C2WC4 alkylene and each of s and t is 1W4). A photosensitive layer contg. the polymer and (thia)pyrylium salt is formed on an electrically conductive support. The resulting photoreceptor has superior chemical and wear resistances and gives superior printing resistance as a lithographic plate. It is highly sensitive to Ar ion laser, and the exposure time is ≤1/1,000,000 of conventional time.
