Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to detect the travelling position of a stacker crane by use of ON-OFF signals produced by transmission or interruption of light beam to detectors which are disposed at predetermined positions along the travelling passage of the stacker crane.
CONSTITUTION: A detector 4 is a U-shaped photoelectric detector which is disposed in the manner of straddling a striker 6. When light beam is interrupted by strikers 6, 11, 12, the output at the contact becomes ON. The detector 4 consists of a set of detectors 8, 9, 10, 13, 14 which are described in more detail in the following. An address setting detector 13 is for detecting the travelling address, and an address resetting detector 14 is also for detecting the travelling address and used with the detector 13. Here, detection of the address is accomplished by the logic of ON-OFF signals produced by the above two detectors 13, 14. On the other hand, a front and a rear detectors 8, 9 are for detecting that a stacker crane is stopped at a correct position of an aimed address. When the outputs of these two detectors 8, 9 are both ON, it is judged that the stacker crane is stopped at the correct position of the aimed address. Further, a central detector 10 is for detecting that the stacker crane is stopped within a tolerable range in respect of the correct position of the aimed address.
