Abstract

PURPOSE: To oxidation-decompose malodorous components at low temperatures and perfectly remove malodor by contacting a malodorous gas with the catalyst comprising two or three components of the crystalline clay ore, zinc oxide and manganese oxide of the limited composition ratios.
CONSTITUTION: Two or three components of general crystalline clay ore as well as zinc oxide and manganese oxide or crystalline clay ore as well as zinc oxide or manganese oxide are sufficiently uniformly ground and mixed at ≥20% metal oxide and ≤80% crystalline clay ore in weight ratio. Next, this is molded to various styles depending upon the type of apparatus and is then fired to make the catalyst. If a malodorous gas contg. nitrogen components and sulfur components is contacted with the catalyst, the malodorous components are oxidation-decomposed at low temperatures.
