Abstract
PURPOSE:To stably operate the light emitting element coupled to an optical fiber by the use of two lenses of the first and second by using a lens of a long focal length of the 2nd lens and making the stereoscopic angle of light to the end face of the optical fiber small. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light emitting element 11 is condensed by the 1st lens 12, and is imaged to the end face 15 of an optical fiber 14 by the 2nd lens 13. At this time, a lens of a long focal length is used for the lens 13 and the stereoscopic angle of the light 16 incident to the end face 15 of the fiber 14 from the lens 13 is made <=50% the stereoscopic angle of the light 17 going toward the lens 13 from the fiber 14. Hence, the amount that the light 17 emitted from the fiber 14 returns to the light emitting element 11 becomes less. In addition, it is possible to prevent the light 19 reflected at the end face 15 from returning to the light emitting element by inclining the end face 15 with respect to the optical axes of the lenses 12, 13. As a result, the light emitting element 11 may be operated stably.
