Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize an accurate detection of the digital travelling distance, by giving a control to the addition/subtraction countings of the counter by the two types of travelling pulses having the different phases and in accordance with the forward/ backward motions and at the same time giving an automatic resetting to the counter when necessary.
CONSTITUTION: The direction deciding unit 12 gives an addition counting to the pulse 12a by the counter 13 when the track corrector has a forward motion and based on the two different types pulses 12a and 12b having different phases which are delivered from the detector 11 for travelling distance with every fixed run, and then gives a subtraction counting in the case of the backward motion respectively. Thus the counter 13 delivers the digital distance covered which is formed with the prescribed bit number even in case when the track corrector does not stop at the desired position but has a backward motion. Furthermore, the counter 13 is reset automatically via the waveform shaping circuit 14 in case when the track corrector has a backward motion from the starting point of detection for the travelling distance, thus preventing the miscorrection of the detection value of the travelling distance of the track corrector.
