Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain hydrocarbon oils of a narrow MW distribution, which is useful as fuels, etc., by a procedure in which a polyolefinic plastic is thermally cracked at a specific temperature, and vapory products are passed through a zone packed with heated fine glass beads. CONSTITUTION:A polyolefinic plastic waste is supplied through the raw material supply port 4 into the thermal cracking reactor 1, where it is thermally cracked by heating to 430-470 deg.C by means of the electric heating wire 10, and vapory substance formed upon thermal cracking is introduced into the packed tower 2 connected to the upside of the thermal cracking reactor 1, packed with glass beads of a grain size of 6.5mm. or less, and kept at an internal temperature of 250 deg.C or less by the electric heating wire 11. During the passage through the packed tower 2, the vapory substance is further thermally cracked and collected in the receiving container 6 as a product having a molecular weight distribution corresponding to 5-24 carbon numbers. The product not collected in the receiving container 6 is collected by the dry ice trap 7 and the gas trap 8.
