Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a porous adsorbent-desorbent by which the synergistic effect of ion exchange action and porous interface adsorption action may be obtained by impregnating the specific polymer soln. or monomer soln in a ceramic base material and solidifying by drying or polymerization.
CONSTITUTION: A porous ceramic material which comprises silica, alumina, carbon, synthetic resin or the like and is hard to dissolve in acids and alkalis is used as a nucleus and is impregnated with a polymer soln. or monomer soln. A soln. of chlorinated polyolefin base, acrylic base or butadiene base having rubber elasticity and having ion exchange groups or permitting introduction of said group is used for the polymer soln. and a solution in which a polymer or copolymer has elastic strength and ion exchange groups fix by polymerization solidification is used for the monomer soln. These are dissolved in a solvent having compatibility and the soln. is impregnated in the ceramic base material, after which the material is heated to allow the solvent to evaporate and is solidified by drying. Or further, if necessary, it is subjected to ion exchange group introduction treatment, whereby the adsorbent- desorbent is produced.
