Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a hollow fiber having a very smooth inner surface of the hollow without the great deterioration in ultrafiltration ratio, by using a cellulose ester solution in a mixed solvent of acetone with a specific substance as a spinning solution and an aliphatic hydrocarbon as a core liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A cellulose ester is dissolved in a mixed solvent of (A) acetone with (B) a substance, e.g. dimethyl suloxide or formamide, having a dipole moemnt ≥3.0 to from a spinning solution, which is then extruded through an annular slit into a filamentary material. A liquid aliphatic hydrocarbon, e.g. n-heptane, as a core liquid is simultaneously introduced into the inner hollow part of the filamentary material. The content of the component (B) in the mixed solvent is 10wt% or more.
EFFECT: With a high anticoagulant preperty and scarcely causing clogging even on using a liquid containing albumin as a liquid to be treated.
USE: Hemodialysis and hemofiltration.
