Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the suppression of corrosion in a submerged enclosed box, by supplying lubricating oil to the upper part of the submerged enclosed box which separates a driving and a transmission sections so that an output shaft is protruded into water and by discharging the lubricating oil from the bottom of the enclosed box.
CONSTITUTION: A transmission member coupled through an output shaft to a working machine 1 under waste water is isolated from the waste water by an enclosed box 2 sealed up on the output shaft. The transmission member is driven by a hydraulic motor 3 located in tight contact with the enclosed box 2. Lubricating oil is introduced under pressure into almost the upper part of the enclosed box 2 from the top of an oil tank 4 through an oil feed pipe equipped with a pump. Excess lubricating oil in the enclosed box 2 and waste water having invaded along the output shaft are discharged from the bottom of the enclosed box to the oil tank 4 through an oil drain pipe 6 coupled to the top of the tank 4. In the oil tank 4, the waste is separated from the circulating lubricating oil by a rectifying plate 7 opposed to the oil drain pipe 6 and by a water drain valve 8 which communicates with the bottom of the tank.
