Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a diazonium salt and a coupler to be used as the constituents of a color developing layer by impregnating a paper substrate with a surfactant so as to improve the water-absorbing property of the paper substrate, in the electric current recording paper used for electric current recording after being wetted with an electrolyte.
CONSTITUTION: After polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate, Liponox NCI or the like is applied as the surfactant on the paper substrate and dried, the diazonium salt and the coupler are applied to form a recording layer on the paper substrate, thereby producing the electric current recording paper. At an impregnation station B, the recording paper 1 is impregnated with the electrolyte 4 from its one side by rotating a roller 3. Since the water-absorbing property of the recording paper 1 has been improved by the treatment with the surfactant, the electrolyte penetrates from the one side of the paper 1 to the other side uniformly in less than about 15sec. In addition, the diazonium salt is never dissolved into the electrolyte. Thereafter, recording is conducted by a plate-shaped recording electrode 6 and a helical electrode 7 at a recording station C.
