Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the deterioration of S/N ratio, which is caused by vibration, by providing the first and second electromagnetic position control means for deciding the position of the vertical direction to the record surface, and also the electromagnetic position control means for deciding the position of the tangential direction of the record groove in the horizontal plane, on a part of the tone arm.

CONSTITUTION: The driving coils 5, 6 are installed to the adapter plates 5a, 6a, which are fixed to the arm with metal fittings 5b, 6b. The hole elements 7a, 8a which are used for detecting the position of the vertical direction to the record surface are provided to the adapter plates 5a, 6a. The driving coil 9, and the hole element 10a for detecting the position of the axial direction of the arm are fixed to the arm 4 through the adapter plate 9a. The linear motor which moves in the x direction is formed by the driving coil 11, the band plate magnet 25 and the magnetic substance 26. The driving coils 5, 6 control floating of the arm through the outputs of the hole elements 7a, 8a, and the motion in the horizontal direction is controlled by the coils 9, 11. Since there is no mechanical contact point except a record stylus, the deterioration of S/N ratio, which is caused by vibration can be reduced.
