Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a harmless nontoxic finger paint, by mixing starch, water, sugar and gum.
CONSTITUTION: An appropriate amount of water is added to starch to make a pastelike mixture. A product is prepared by adding to the pastelike mixture, sugar and gum as a tackifying agent to improve tackiness during application of the finger paint to paper and to improve fixation after application, oil to promote fixation and drying after application or an emulsifier to improve slip during application or an antiseptic to enhance storage stability and a pigment for coloration. As the starch which is the principal constituent, there can be used ordinary starch and as well a modified starch such as sodium saet of starch phosporic ester, sodium starch glycolate.
