Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy exfoliation for the tip part of the copy paper, by setting the bias voltage to be applied to the picture region of the photoreceptor in the process of development lower than the ordinary level of the bias voltage to be applied at the areas excepting the tip part of the picture region. CONSTITUTION:The development bias voltage to be applied to the development roll 21 of the developing machine 10 is switched by the switching device 22. And the development bias voltage is set at e.g. 150V at the tip part of the picture area having a width of about 5mm. of the photoreceptor 8, and the development is carried out for the subsequent areas with the bias voltage of normal 350V. In such way, a large amount of toner is attached only to the tip part of the picture region to form a belt-form toner layer in an assured way. Then the toner is supplied between the tip of the copy part and the photoreceptor to weaken the electrostatic adsorbing force between them. As a result, an easy exfoliation is secured for the tip part of the copy paper.
