CONSTITUTION:The subchannel television signal is supplied to memory unit 20 through tuner 9, intermediate frequency amplifying circuit 10, video detecting circuit 11, and video amplifying circuit 12. Meanwhile, the television signal of scanning lines whose number is reduced on a basis of the control signal of control circuit 12 is written into memory unit 20. Next, the signal is read out from memory unit 20 in a speed three times as high as the write speed and has the time base compressed to 1/3. This signal is supplied to signal switching circuit 16, and further, this signal is supplied to receiving tube 18 on a basis of the control signal of control circuit 21, thus projecting the subchannel picture of the 1/3 size onto a part of the main channel picture.
