Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent heat conduction pipes from thermal fatigue due to hunting, subcooling, etc., the heat conduction pipes being used for the captioned multitubular heat exchanger wherein a gas in the heat conduction pipes is cooled to be condensed by a fluid outside the tubes, by adjusting amounts of gas flowing into the heat conducting pipes according to the loads to keep the drain amounts constant.
CONSTITUTION: A gas inlet chamber is divided into several piping systems to which are provided control valves 5, 6, 7, respectively, and the control valves 5, 6, 7 are operated to open to predetermined degree by load signals. Setting values of a controller 8 are set such that the opennesses of the control valves 5, 6, 7 attain approximately ideal flow rates throughout the whole loads. Thus the drain control of the gas is stabilized at any sectional load, and therefore thermal fatigue of the heat conduction pipes 4 due to hunting, subcooling, etc. can be prevented to improve the performance.
