Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a general-purpose lathe to very accurately bore deformed holes by providing a driven roller pressed against a fixed master cam and subjected to fine adjustment. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece is fixedly attached to a workpiece holder 3 with a master cam 2. A cutting tool holder 7 is finely adjusted by adjusting a graduated adjusting ring 15. A driven roller 11 bears against a master cam 2 and a space between a cutting tool 18 and driven roller 11 is adjusted to a predetermined value. The driven roller 11 is moved forward and backward by the master cam 2 and the cutting tool 18 is moved radially forward and backward in a prebored hole 18a so that the prebored hole 18a is cut according to the shape of the master cam 2 to form a deformed hole 18b.
