Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain invariably constant picture density and also to improve the efficiency of a maintenance check, etc., by measuring the electric resistance of a developer and by holding liquid concentration on the basis of the measurement result according to the program of liquid transmissivity.
CONSTITUTION: For a measurement of liquid concentration, change-over switches SW1WSW4 are placed as shown in the figure. In this case, lamp 3 is turned on and the quantity of light transmitted in electrolyte 2 is detected by CdS element 4 and inputted to operational amplifier 5. With the arithmetic output of amplifier 5, transistors Q1 and Q2 are put into operation to drive solenoid 6, which turns on lamp 7. As solenoid 6 is driven, toner passage 6A is opened to dischrge toner 9 in tank 8 into electrolyte 2. According to an increase in electrolytic concentration, the output of operational amplifier 5 is cut off to cut off control over the liquid concentration. For a measurement or liquid resistance, change-over switches SW1W SW4 placed at the opposite sides to the positions in the figure to turn off CdS element 4 and the liquid resistance measurement voltage of electrode plate 1 is inputted to operational amplifier 5, thereby exercising concentration control with its arithmetic output.
