Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability, mechanical strength of a display device and to reduce the power consumption by pressing flat plate electrodes and an insulating spacer to a flat panel with a flexible metal member. CONSTITUTION:An evacuated container is formed with a flat panel 23 and back substrate 8. A back electrode 8 is formed with a flexible metal member. A spacer 9 provided on the flexible metal member, first support 10, second support 11, coil heater 13, insulating supporting plate 15, first electrodes 16, insulating supporting plate 17, second electrodes 18, insulating supporting plate 19, third electrode 20, and insulating spacer 21 are pressed to the flat panel 23 with the flexible metal member to provide a getter in vacuum.
