Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the time from the initial explosion to complete explosion of an engine, by providing an auxiliary coil in the starting motor so that the auxiliary coil is excited when the engine speed is raised to a predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: The starting motor of this invention comprises a field coil 3 and an auxiliary coil 9 turned in reverse direction to that of the field coil 3. These coils 3, 9 are connected to a generator 11 via a relay 13. since the generator 11 produces a voltage corresponding to the revolutional speed of the engine 10, the relay 13 is excited when the engine speed is raised to a predetermined value at the time of starting engine 10 and closes a realy contact 12. Resultantly, current is passed through auxiliary coil 9 and it functions to cancel a portion of the magnetic flux produced by the field coil 3, so that the revolutional speed of the starting motor is raised. On the other hand, although the torque is lowered, it does not cause any difficulty since torque is not required so much in this state. Thus, it is enabled to change the revolutional speed of the starting motor in a required manner.
