Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the ink from spilling from an ink circulation system and enable the aerator to be moved or carried, by a method wherein filters are fitted in an ink supply pipe so that only the air component mixed into the ink supply system can be communicated with the outside air. CONSTITUTION:The ink droplets jetted from an ink jet head 1 are electrically charged by a charging electrode 2, deflected by deflecting electrodes 3 and deposited onto the recording paper 6, producing a print on the paper 6. On the other hand, the useless ink droplets which have not been charged nor deflected are recovered by a gutter 5 and returned into an ink tank 8 through a filter 10. The ink flows through valves 12, 13, a subtank 14 and a combined deaerator and main filter 5 into a booster pump 16, where the pressure of the ink is increased. Then the variations in the ink pressure are nullified by an accumulator 17, and the ink is fed to the ink jet head 1 through a filter 18 and a solenoid valve 19.
