Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a high-efficiency transmission of the ultrasonic energy, by providing a pair of reflecting plates which are symmetrical to each other to the ultrasonic oscillator array. CONSTITUTION:A pair of reflecting plates RF1 and RF2 which are symmectrical to each other are provided to the oscillator array TD. Thus the ultrasonic waves delivered from the both surfaces of the array TD are reflected by the plates RF1 and RF2 each to be transmitted to the place where the sound is detected. And the reflected signal from the sound detecting place is reflected by the plates RF1 and RF2 each to be irradiated to the both surfaces of the array TD. In such way, the both surfaces of the oscillator array are related to the transmission and reception of the ultrasonic wave, thus securing a high-efficiency transmission of the ultrasonic energy.
