Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure an easy control of the stepping motor and thus ensure an accurate tuning, by reducing the rotation speed of the motor which drives the variable capacitor by making use of the intermediate frequency and then securing a perfect tuning by means of the S-curve. CONSTITUTION:With push of the searching direction change-over switch SU in the control circuit 61, the stepping motor 41 is rotated along with the coupled variable capacitors 12a and 14a to approximate to the tuning point of one desired station. In this case, the output of the intermediate frequency amplifier 15 produces the slow- down signal SLD before reaching the tuning point, and thus the motor 41 is retarded in such degree that it can proceed to the stopping action without any overrun. After this, the capacitors 12a and 14a turn to reach the tuning point, and this is detected by the 2nd comparator 32 the threshold level of which is set at the middle point of the S-curve given from the wave detector 16. Then the stop signal STP is produced from the logic circuit 33. And based on this signal STP, the motor stop signal MST is supplied to the motor driving circuit 42 from the circuit 61. Accordingly, the motor 41 is held at the angle of rotation then, thus completing the operation of an automatic channel selection.
