Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture an enameled substrate suitable for an electronic circuit, by addition of a crystalline metallic oxide of high m.p., which does not melt with an enamel frit, to the enamel frit in a prescribed ratio, then by painting and calcining the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. enamel frit is added 3W20pts.wt. crystalline, high melting metallic oxide, for example, alumina, silica, barium titanate etc., which does not melt with the frit, and the mixture is painted on a metallic material and is calcined. For example, a steel sheet for enameled substrate is cleaned at the surface, and enamel slip made by addition of alumina powder to the enamel frit is sprayed on the substrate 5 by means of a spray gun etc. to form coating and is calcined thereby forming an enamel layer. Addition of alumina increases the viscosity of the molten slip, hence formation of sink in calcining, protuberance at the edge part, and heat crack of the coating is prevented. No deformation is caused by printing the substrate with circuit paste and by calcination. Preferable mean particle size of the above-described oxide is about 6μ.
