Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid unstable zone in the dynamic characteristic of a water supply pump and improve thereby reliability of the same by providing a rotation control means which unbalances the water supply pump only when the rotation of variable- speed fluid coupling is passing the unstable zone.
CONSTITUTION: A rotation control means 13 equipped with a calculator part 15 and a memory part 14 shall be provided to unbalance water supply pumps 5, 6 only when the rotation of variable-speed fluid couplings 7, 8 are passing the unstable zone. When the rotation of the couplings 7, 8 approach the unstable zone, the calculator part 15 calculates the scooping positions (P-ΔP), (P+ΔP) at the fore and back of the unstable zone with the aid of the characteristic relation between the water supplying amount and scooping pipe position placed in the memory part 14 and determines the rotation corresponding to these scooping pipe positions. These rotations are compared with the values given by rotation sensors 11, 12 and, when these two become identical, the scooping pipe operational part is fed with a command signal, so that the couplings 8, 9 put the pumps 5, 6 in balanced operation at the rotation according to this signal.
