Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent digging prograss from suffering a hindrance by a method wherein a permeating amount of muddy water at a place to be dug is detected beforehand and various muddy water shield conditions are set in accordance with the detection in a testing method of geology at the place to be dug.
CONSTITUTION: A head device 5 is attached to an upper portion of a pipe 3 in order to measure a pressure of muddy water A. High-pressure gas is forced into the pipe 3 from a high-pressure gas cylinder 10 by operating a valve 9 for the head device 5 to impress a constant amount of the air pressure on a surface of the muddy water A and a head and a pressure of the muddy water in the pipe 3 are measured by a muddy water level gauge 11 and a muddy water pressure gauge P at every unit time. When all of the measured values becomes constant, the pressure of the pressurized air is further increased while watching a pressurized air pressure gauge 12 and the similar measurement is effected. A status wherein the muddy water A is infiltrating is graphed and a coefficient of mud lessening is obtained by catching a point of intersection of a curve of the infiltrating amount, which decreases gradually, and a standard value of the muddy water infiltration. A muddy water shield digging work is effected based on the obtained coefficient.
