Abstract
PURPOSE: An aqueous solution of bisulfite salt is added to a urethane prepolymer formed from polyisocyanate adduct, a compound containing hydroxyls and a higher alcohol to produce an aqueous solution of resin finishing agent or touch improver for woven fabrics.
CONSTITUTION: A urethane prepolymer is prepared by reaction of an excessive amount of polyisocyanate adduct with a compound with 2 or more hydroxyls and a molecular weight of 1,000W3,000 such as polypropylene glycol and further a 8W20C higher fatty alcohol with one hydroxyl such as octyl alcohol as the third component so that 3.5-25% of the poisocyanate adduct is consumed. The prepolymer dissolved in a water-soluble solvent such as methanol. Then, an aqueous solution of bisulfite salt is added to the prepolymer solution to effect reactions to form isocyanate- bisulfite salt adduct, which is combined with water to form an aqueous solution.
